Enjoying the weather up this way!!  Port Douglas is very tourist oriented where Christopher Schaaf spent all his money and left our shores. Had a wonderful day with Daintree Discovery Tours visiting the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest with guide Mick only 10 people on the tour, well worth the money spent. It was such a full day Mossman Gorge was the introduction to the rainforest.  Jindalba broadwalk learnt about flora & fauna.  Car ferry across Daintree River with  lunch in open air restaurant along side Cooper Creek, Cape Tribulation  with photos overlooking a very pretty bay.  Daintree ice cream for arvo tea that was yum. Alexandra Lookout has beautiful views over Rainforest & Daintree  River and Cairns in the distance.  Lucky on our way back to see a cassowary in the scrub, unfortunately not able to get out of vehicle h...

Great drive along the coast stopping at Rollingstone 2 nights which was beautiful right on the beach, pizza night & live music on Saturday night, met a couple who new Peter & Penny Treleven. 2 night's at Fishery Falls caravan park Gordonvale south of Cairns, not happy campers!!! Booked and paid for slab sight 5 months ago and put in overflow site a long way from the amenities, they were happy to take our money in advance but couldn't find us a decent site !!! This creek was along side the  park. Had a lovely relaxing day on the Kuranda Scenic Railway from Cairns to Kuranda and returned via the Skyrail, magnificent views from both modes of transport.

Airlie Beach had day trip out to Reef World which was wonderful. Enjoyed few days in Townsville, visit to Charters towers with well preserved buildings from gold rush era. Crossed Burdekin River which would be magnificent when flooded looking at the level of water from previous floods.

Have done lots of klms since last post.  Tambo great little town where we said goodbye to Ian and Coralie after travelling together since Inverloch in beginning of June. Barcaldine full of tourist's, stayed at very cramped caravan park, not ideal. Couldn't get to Longreach, all booked out !!! Overnight stop at Emerald at Lake Maraboon. Tannum Sand's out of Gladstone, a beautiful place. Kinka Beach (Yeppoon) also beautiful. About 40 klms from Rockhampton.
